I feel so blessed as I received a few gifts these past couple of weeks. Not only that, I also heard a very good news but I'm not gonna share it yet as I don't want to get too excited about it and jinx it. I'll just share it when it's already happening. ^^

On with the gifts... I got this really pretty and sparkly anklet from a very good friend who's based in Kuwait.

I LOVE it! It reminded me how much I love anklets and should get back to wearing them. Thank you so much, Amor! Like what I keep on telling you, you're spoiling us too much. *insert green heart here*

Next, I participated in two Redditgifts exchanges, Everyday Carry and J.R.R. Tolkien, and the package from my Everyday Carry secret santa already arrived. Yay! Here are what's in the package

I love everything she sent me but my secret santa did not reveal herself (I'm assuming she's a girl based on the heart on the envelope, the handwriting and the xx on the note). It's like she knows me personally... see, there's this little notebook, pens from Japan (I love anything from Japan!), touchscreen pen, and a GREEN emergency pouch with a mini screwdriver keychain and a small sewing kit inside... perfect for my travels! Thank you so much secret santa! xx

She sent me this stationery set in exchange for participating in her letter writing campaign. The lovely set is called The Polaroid Love Notes and is sponsored by Adam Schwartz of Chronicle Books. (No, they're not related. Haha) Thank you so much Sarah and Adam! I really love this set! It really suits me because I love analog photography (and photography in general). The photos are all beautiful and I really like their vintage feel. I'm seriously thinking about using them (I'd rather keeo them. Haha!). I promise to put them to good use.

Handmade Stationery Sets

I put to use one of the handmade stationery I received from the craft soirée I attended last year by joining a letter-writing campaign. I will tell you more about the campaign next time when my letter already reached its destination. Right now, I just want to show the handmade stationery sheets that I sent the website owner. My crafty hands were itching, I just had to do some crafting. Haha. Here's what I sent her...

Wish I could have done more but I was in a hurry to go to the post office and my hand already hurt from all the doodling. Yes, these are all hand-drawn. As much as I wanted to just digitize my doodle and print it, I couldn't because my printer is still not working. Do you think she'll like it?

I also made another set of handmade stationery, this time for my best friend who's in the country for a short vacation. This time it's not doodled but hand-stamped instead. I used stamps that I recently bought and again on kraft paper.

 

I told her I had something for her and handed the set in an envelope. She opened the envelope right away to take a peek and she liked it.

Bu the way, if you'd like these handmade stationery sets, I do accept orders for them. They're great for personal collection, teachers' gifts, bridesmaids gifts, bridal shower favors, baby shower favors, etc. Just give me a holler and we'll talk about it. :)

Life After Breakfast Stationery Swap

Here’s a long overdue craft soirée post.

The event was a stationery swap hosted by Alessa of Life After Breakfast and it was held on August 10 at the Pipino/Pino Resto * Bar. There were 40 attendees in all and I met a bunch of crafty people who are incredibly talented, I actually felt sorry for the stationery sets that I made. Haha!

Let me show you first how my handmade stationery set looked like, else, you’ll be disappointed when you the see others first. Haha! The first photo is what’s included in my set plus plain colored envelopes (not in picture) and the second photo is how I packaged them using a brown paper bag, a paper doily, and baker's twine. I used rubber stamps to label them.

The event started with an introduction by Alessa then we introduced ourselves one by one and said a little something about the stationery sets we made. After that, we distributed a set to each of our group mates, except for Alessa who has a set for everyone. So, we all gave away 10 sets and received 10 sets as well. Happy, happy me!

It was a really fun event and I’m looking forward to more craft soirées in the future. I promise to try to be more creative next time. I heard that the next one will be a jewelry swap… hmmm… will think hard about it as I don’t really make jewelries… but I can try… we’ll see.
